Floor Plan AR

Walk through the drawing.

Three.jsWebXRQuest 3
Recorded in-headset. A short, silent edit of the working prototype, lightly stabilized and slowed for easier viewing.

Four views show virtual walls and furniture, the flat floor-plan overlay, a bathroom layout, and a modeled corridor aligned with the room around them.

From a flat plan to a real space

A drawing is useful, but picturing it at the scale of a room is another thing. Floor Plan AR explores that gap by placing a floor-plan image into mixed reality on Quest 3.

Upload a plan, place its origin in the room, then adjust the scale, rotation, and opacity until it lines up with the space around you. Background removal helps keep the real floor visible underneath the drawing.

Built for experimenting

The viewer uses Three.js and WebXR, with Canvas handling image operations. In-headset controls make the alignment adjustable without leaving the experience.

Experimental features explore extruding walls and objects from the plan and using depth occlusion. They are explorations of what the viewer could become, rather than a claim that a drawing replaces field measurements.
